They have a new site that further explains their project. I'd still encourage folks to read about it and contribute if they find their cause worthwhile.

Still don't see them listed on any official government sites as a non-profit, but the Texas site is really ugly, so that really doesn't cover it. The new site is better than a blog, though - gives the impression that they tried. I'd like to see more technical information - they refer to the general Linux quite a bit, they specifically mention KDE, but its unclear if they build their own distro (which isn't as hard as it sounds) or just use Kubuntu or something.
